The maxgeo EMEA team was proud to host two exciting Conference and Mentoring events to reignite client relationships and to share the continuing future and structure of data management with the industry – embracing ‘Ubuntu’ in the pursuit of knowledge.

These events took place in West Africa and South Africa to allow for maximum availability to all clients and potential attendees. From the city of Accra in Ghana to the countryside of Johannesburg in South Africa, the events provided an opportunity for maxgeo representatives to network within the industry and renew business relationships in person.

The presentations for the conferences included a case study provided by Oriole Resources on maxgeo’s contribution to their data management strategy, a charismatic review of data management’s influence on ESG reporting from Joshua Kilani of Xpotential Mining Services, an innovative discussion on essential cyber security from Jon Hesterman of Cloudn8v, as well as a fascinating pXRF and Automation presentation by Stuart Bateman of Innov-X Africa.

In addition, the maxgeo team presented an overview of current geological data management solutions, future product developments as well as insights into the data management of the future. Conference attendees also enjoyed the opportunity to meet and greet between sessions, while enjoying the hotel’s generous hospitality.

Our grateful thanks are extended to all those who contributed to the conference’s presentations, your input was invaluable, providing in-depth knowledge to all participants and opening many discussion points.

The events also provided a chance for our current clients to bring their LogChief and DataShed questions to the table. Day 2 and Day 3 of the events were dedicated to Mentoring by our product experts from South Africa and Australia, which allowed for Q&A, robust discussion as well as a chance to suggest any product-related changes that clients would like to see, for consideration in future development. These events are attendee-focused because their success depends on the questions asked and points raised by the people that use the software daily. It allows the users access to the experts in a relaxed and open forum, which proved most beneficial for our clients.

A special note of thanks to SEMS exploration for their assistance in Ghana, IGO Travel for their proficient travel arrangements for the team, and finally to the hotels that hosted our events so professionally; we also thank Holiday Inn Accra Airport and Kloofzicht Lodge & Spa.
