The role

maxgeo is a leading supplier of data management solutions to the mining and exploration industry. Currently, there is an opportunity for a Project Coordinator to join our team, based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Beyond your deliverability capacity and experience, you’ll demonstrate your attention to detail and your ability to work and motivate others to operate within a schedule, tracking and maintaining co-operation and results.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • You will be a key member of the business unit
  • You will be coordinating projects stages, schedules and documentation tracking within customer expectations by ensuring clients are regularly updated throughout the entire project
  • You will have excellent communication and negotiation skills. As the main point of contact for our Johannesburg office, you will maintain a professional link between our team, our contractors, and the clients. You will be a problem solver with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • You will constantly maintain communications with the global team and clients regarding the status of the contracted project stages and ensure notification of and adherence to the contracted progress schedule
  • To ensure the smooth running of the project you will coordinate and schedule our external contractors. You will be a friendly ‘people person’ with the ability to develop, maintain and influence positive working relationships with stakeholders of all levels
  • Resolving any situations that may arise through early identification. You will identify, escalate and communicate project variations
  • From conducting pre-installation checks to the final handover you will be fully involved in all stages of the assessment, delivery and implementation processes
  • Possess a positive attitude which reflects our company culture
  • Be an innate problem solver, with a high level of perseverance and commitment
  • Maintain and develop a thorough knowledge of all our products, solutions and processes in order to confidently interact with the team and our clients

Skills and experience

At least 5 years experience in a Project Management, Consultancy, Business, Engineering, IT or related field as a Scheduler / Analyst
Excellent written and spoken communication skills are vital. You will be organised and have great record keeping skills and strong computer literacy
A multi-tasker with great time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects with a focus on delivering positive outcomes and happy customers
Experience in scheduling, project controls, risk management and performance reporting
Advance skills in MS Office suite (Excel and Word)
Ability to travel interstate and internationally, if required
